Qualifications
- Experience in working with homeless low income persons with disabilities.
- Understanding of the delivery of Social Services and eligible benefits
- Ability to work well with clients of diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups; respects confidentiality; able to work within ethical and legal parameters of social services
- Willingness to work in an environment with a flexible work schedule and in a team environment
- Willingness to support the philosophy, goal, and objectives of The Salvation Army
- Must pass a background check, and satisfy the MVR drivers' qualification requirements.
- It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
Summary of Position This is an after-hours support position to the Case Manager by providing professional support at the desk, over the phone, and in person to all residents of the General's Quarters. $15.00/hour On call, 0-8 hours per week Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support Staff:
- Ensure the safety of the residents and a secure environment during the evening and early morning hours.
- Provide access to, and regularly interact with, residents. Report any area of concern to the Case Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain a supply of printed community resources to hand out, bus tokens if needed, and will assist residents with phone calls, and other information.
- Assist residents and Case Manager with move in and move out procedures.
- Develop and maintain a sufficient level of First Aid knowledge, study the manual on Blood-Borne Pathogens and know when to call 911
- Identify the issues of, and how to work with, a disability such as MI and CD and how to diffuse a potential crisis.
- Maintain an overnight incident log for review and appropriate action by the Case Manager or Program Director.
- Enforce residential policies and procedures consistently and fairly to all residents.
- Keep informed on activities and communicate those to residents as directed.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude.
- Support other staff as needed to accomplish overall operations of the facility.
- Participate in, and satisfactorily complete, training programs required of the assigned position to enhance the ability to perform this job.

The incumbent may be required to travel by personal vehicle, organization vehicle or other modes of travel to support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
