Role and Responsibilities:

The Community Support Coach will be a personal supporter and life coach focused on skill-building and equal employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.



  • Be a mentor, teacher, role model, and advocate for people with disabilities.
  • Be a motivator who helps people reach their full potential.
  • A flexible, creative, doer who is willing to try anything, including:


    • Job Development (helping people find jobs).
    • Job Coaching (helping them learn a new job in the community).
    • Life Coaching (developing personal care, money management, safety, life skills, etc.)
    • Community Connecting (trying new hobbies and participating in recreational activities).
    • Working one-on-one with participants at job sites.




Education Requirements:



  • High school diploma and/or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.



Qualifications Requirements:



  • Has the following traits: cheerful, helpful, patient, kind, easygoing, energetic, trustworthy, polite, creative, honest, punctual.
  • A flexible, creative, doer who is willing to try anything.


  • 6 months employment in a position that demonstrates person accountability and decision making (nonpaid family caregivers or related personal experience can be substituted).
  • Ability to communicate effectively (read, write and speak in English) with people served and team members.
  • Ability to work in a variety of locations, performing different jobs based upon the needs of the people served.
  • Desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.



Physical Demands:



  • Reasonable accommodations may be me made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, gran and lift up to fifty (25) lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk the entire shift.
