Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION

OSU Harding Hospital/East Hospital-Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our psychiatric emergency, behavioral health immediate care, inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing psychiatric emergency amp; crisis, need for behavioral health immediate care, mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, trauma- and stress-related disorders, and sexual dysfunction. We offer specialty programs in womens behavioral health, addictions, trauma, adolescent school-based, and neurocognitive disorders. Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive addiction services for adults in central Ohio, offering specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing a substance use disorder. We offer traumatic brain injury specific treatment, the latest Medicated Assisted Treatment for opiate and alcohol use disorders. Talbot offers detox, Intensive Outpatient, partial hospitalization and many outpatient and continuing care groups. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient-focused care through the integrated skills of all treatment team members. BHIC Clinicians serve as a critical part of our clinical team; they are an independent provider who functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide assessment, counseling, and psychotherapy.

The OSU Behavioral Health Immediate Care (BHIC) program has been designed to bridge the gaps in the mental health continuum of care. OSU Behavioral Health Immediate Care (BHIC) offers short-term psychotherapy and psychiatric medication evaluation, management, and limited case-management services to patients at risk for behavioral health decompensation. Appointments can be scheduled or walk-in, conducted in-person or delivered virtually via telehealth.

POSITION SUMMARY

Clinical and education position, including, but not limited to:

Complete comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for patients with mental health, addiction, and crisis-related complaints.
Provide counseling/psychotherapy to individuals with mental amp; behavioral disorders to facilitate return to previous or improved functioning. Services provided include individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and/or couple/family therapy.
Conduct evidenced-based suicide, crisis, and risk assessments amp; intervention.
Formulate individualized treatment plans to assist patients to determine and meet treatment goals.
Assess patient needs, and coordinate linkage with necessary services and community resources.
Other duties include assisting with insurance verification, precertification, and telephone consultation to referral sources regarding access to Harding services, advocating within local community if needed; work as part of clinical team; maintain third-party payer relationships; and complete all necessary paperwork (e.g., disability, FMLA); maintain third-party payer relationships.
