Job Description

Title: CMM-NDT Operator

Status: Hourly

Shift: 1st FH Sun- Wed. 4am-2pm

Location: Mentor

Reports To: Reports directly to Dept. 690 Supervisor

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Previous casting experience is a plus. Must be familiar with standard quality assurance instruments and gages.

Principal Area of Responsibility: Dimensional inspector must be capable of using CMM's and gages assigned to his/her job title proficiently and accurately.

Specific Duties:

  • Operate CMM for inspection of all production and development metal castings and wax patterns.

  • Dimensional inspect castings in either the wax, rough, or final condition using the following:

    • Shroud and root gages

    • Guillotine gages

    • Stock gages

    • DO gages

  • Indicators and micrometers that indicate all dimensions required by P.E.I. specification.

  • Utilize metal removal equipment or straightening equipment to bring parts to gage acceptance.

  • Scrap and rework reports, gage and record as necessary.

  • Keep gages clean after use.

  • Finishing/NDT responsibilities when needed.

  • Follow all safety rules.

  • Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
