Job Title: Packaging/Finished Goods Material Handler

Location: Nampa, ID

Job Summary:

The Packaging/Finished Goods Material Handler is responsible for the timely movement of all materials within a designated location. This position is also responsible for tracking movement of materials within the computerized systems to ensure proper inventory availability.

This position is for D shift - Thursday through Saturday and E/O Wednesday from 7:00pm - 7:00am.

Position Responsibilities:



  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, packaging, finished product and other materials from one location to another.
  • Operate a Turret forklift (VNA) to move raw materials, packaging, finished product and other materials from one location to another.
  • Be certified to drive material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
  • Use a computer and company systems to track all material movement transactions, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Observe all GMP, Food Safety, and Employee Safety requirements.
  • Load 53 foot trailers with a lift truck
  • Shipping and receiving of products and materials
  • Log incoming material and outgoing pallets into computer system
  • Recognize shortages of materials in the system and order materials for next shift
  • Staging and preparation of raw materials for use in operations.
  • Follow detailed processes for assigned work to ensure proper completion.

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours



Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift - 12 hours
  • Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to get on and off a forklift in a safe manner multiple times per shift.
  • Must be able to work in cold temperature environments when wearing proper attire.
  • Must not be fearful of heights. Work on a secure elevated platform up to 30 feet.
  • Must be able to wear a safety harness.


Education:



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Technical / Trade School preferred



Experience:



  • Prior forklift/material handling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working in the food industry is preferred



Skills:



  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate (verbal, read, write) effectively in English
  • Ability to plan work and anticipate problems
  • Computer skills (data entry & experience with an ERP system in a production environment preferred)


  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take/record measurements and understand tare weight)
