WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) ...

This position is responsible to increase access and deepen engagement of services for youth and young adults with mental illness and or substance use disorders. The School Liaison works with NMH, No Wrong Door and Newport County Schools to develop and sustain positive relationships and supports the clinical and administrative pathways to care from school through treatment.

Essential Duties:

  • Supports pathways to care for clients as evidenced by increased census in HT and other programs targeting youth and young adults.
  • Helps to develop the connections between the stakeholder's progress and services.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Effectively communicates NMH values and norms in all efforts.
  • Demonstrates the understanding of behavioral health assessment and interventions.
  • Ability to complete a biopsychosocial assessment and document in an HER.
  • Has excellent boundaries, ethics and understanding of confidentiality regulations.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and commitment to behavioral health care for youth, young adults, and their families
  • Serves as ambassador for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Approaches the work with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrate exceptional follow through.
  • Initiates and maintains strengths-based relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adheres to NMH policies and practices.
  • Develops and Manages schedules as needed.
  • Project management talent and skills.
  • Supports the effective marketing and education of services to community members using culturally relevant venues.
  • Works to develop a community engagement plan.
  • Increases community engagement by offering community members greater access to information.
  • Implement online and offline strategies to collect feedback, recommendations, and input and communicate with community.
  • Works to support the development of effective business partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations.
  • Identifies and responds to community need and serves as educational resource.
  • Initiates and facilitates communication between healthcare providers, community organizations and Newport Mental Health to ensure awareness of community support programs.
  • Assists with development and implementation of comprehensive community relations program; responsible for metrics related to performance.
  • Maintains database of community partner contacts, opportunities, and progress toward resolution of issues.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor to discuss challenges and for strategic planning
  • Represents the EVP and Program director at meetings as assigned

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU...

  • 5 years' experience in a high level administrative position with independent problem solving and leadership abilities required.
  • Bilingual - fluent in Spanish and English
  • Excellent computer skills including professional advanced understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, and other electronic platforms.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work independently and with groups of people.
  • Highly organized and works well as a part of a team.
  • Proactive, flexible and solution focused work style.
  • Ability to set priorities and goals.
