The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs is seeking a Senior Editorial Director to bring editorial leadership and execution to a range of strategic communications and initiatives at the school. The Senior Editorial Director's main priorities will be: 1) Support the dean's communications portfolio, serving as one of the dean's senior writers, executing high-level, public-facing communications; 2) In collaboration with the Director of Event Management, steward SIPA's signature events strategy by generating speaker and topic ideas, managing speaker booking, and guiding all event content elements to ensure these events support SIPA's reputation as one of the leading voices and conveners of dialogue on some of the most complex and urgent policy issues facing our world today; and 3) Lead on editorial content across the school, including but not limited to SIPA Magazine and other annual and high-level, school-wide communications, 4) Support media relations strategy for the school. The Senior Editorial Director is based in the Communications & External Relations unit, reports to the Associate Dean of Communications & External Relations. They would have frequent interaction with the Dean and other senior leadership and faculty.
