Journeyman RF Solid State Electrical Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and test radio frequency (RF) solid-state devices and circuits for various applications such as communication systems, radar systems, and electronic warfare. Conduct research and development activities to advance the state-of-the-art in RF solid-state technology. Analyze system requirements and specifications to determine RF solid-state device specifications and performance parameters. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including RF design engineers, digital design engineers, and system engineers to integrate RF solid-state components into larger systems. Characterize RF solid-state devices and circuits using laboratory equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Develop models and simulations to predict the performance of RF solid-state devices and circuits. Optimize RF solid-state designs for performance, power consumption, and cost. Document design specifications, test procedures, and results. Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams during the fabrication and testing of RF solid-state devices. Stay current with advancements in RF solid-state technology and participate in continuing education activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in solid state RF power amplifier design

  • 15+ years of experience in the design, development, and test of RF circuits

  • Experience in Actively Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technologies, including Transmit and Receive Modules, Power Converters, RF components, and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)

  • Experience with SW tools used to model Microwave Monolithic Circuits

  • Experience in the design, development, and test of RF circuits used in radar systems, the modeling and measurement of RF performance, in the design qualification, including MIL-STD-901, MIL-STD-461, or MIL-STD-167

  • Ability to assess system level radar performance, such as MATLAB or CST and radar DoD ACAT I systems engineering processes

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Science and 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or Master's degree in Science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
