Job Description

The Commercial Lines Account Executive (AE) works alongside the Producer and/or
an Agency Manager to provide support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts. The AE is responsible in the rounding out of client accounts.

The AE possesses more coverage knowledge than that of an Account Manager. The AE should be able to interact with medium-to-large accounts with minimal to no assistance from the producer.

Primary Duties

  • Identifies, designs, and implement placement strategies for the client, encompassing new products and services, identification and selection of target markets, and tailored/unique coverages.
  • Provide support to help clients and reach agency business goals.
  • Seeks referrals from clients and follows through to get new accounts.
  • Review final proposals and help coordinate any presentations according to agency standards.
  • Helps in negotiating quotes with appropriate carriers.
  • Help with new business by collecting the required documentation for submissions and review of client contracts.
  • Advise Account Managers on possible markets for renewal submissions.
  • AE works to help build and maintain a working and personal relationship with the client alongside the producer and/or agency
    manager.
  • Maintains knowledge of developments or changes with carriers and new federal/state laws that affect how clients conduct business; consults, informs and educates clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures.
  • Represents the agency in coordination with producers in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances; facilitates a productive and amicable working relationship between clients and producers; develops and maintains a positive relationship and rapport with each insurance carrier to satisfy our clients' needs and facilitates the processing of business.
  • Assists in the training and development of team members with respects to coverage knowledge as needed.
  • Pursues professional studies and maintains a familiarity with trends in the industry and with new insurance products, meets with producers and account managers on a regular basis to review and address accounts
  • Must be able to work during regular working hours as established by the agency

Experience and Skills
Education and Experience

5-7 years of experience as a Senior Account Manager, Underwriter or Producer


P&C License is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products, usage, and markets.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as required
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills necessary
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, express enthusiasm and be flexible
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Appropriately attired for professional office environment
  • Maintains a professional, helpful and courteous demeanor with clients, carrier personnel, and agency personnel.

Education and Experience
