The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Chemist to work at our lab in Portage, IN. The Chemist conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials, liquids, and gases, and analyzes test data for a variety of purposes, such as research, product development, quality control, and establishing standards, involving experimental, theoretical, and/or practical application of chemistry and related sciences. Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Tuition Reimbursement for qualified skilled trade programs Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Chemist will: Prepare samples for analysis Perform chemical and physical testing of samples to determine strength, stability, chemical content, and other characteristics. Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control. Maintain the laboratory equipment (ICP and XRF). Calibrate equipment Enter information into computer Provide data analysis and interpretation Plot data on control charts Generate reports and maintain records Perform other projects as assigned Skills The ideal candidate will have: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in chemical technology or applied sciences (physics, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences) or equivalent Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stockpiles Ability and willingness to work with hazardous chemicals (i.e. strong acids and bases) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS Systems Knowledge of XRF and ICP operation Exposure to the glass industry a plus Knowledge of statistical analysis Good verbal and written communication skills Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record To Apply Please submit your resume Who is Edw.
