Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) has a unique opportunity for a full-time BC/BE General and/or Subspecialty trained neurologist to join our team. The ability to read EEG and interest in epilepsy would be welcomed. The Center for Neurology boasts a collaborative team of exceptionally well-trained, Board Certified Neurologists with subspecialty training or interests in Neuromuscular disease, Brain Injury Medicine, Stroke, Movement Disorders and Headache serving a population with a growing need for neurological services. GBMC is a Primary Stroke Center. Stroke call is covered by Stroke trained attending physicians through our partnership with a local Comprehensive Stroke Center. Routine Inpatient consults and evening call are currently shared equally amongst our team however due to the growing demand for Neurological services we are also interviewing Neurohospitalists.

Substantial interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with staff, physicians, patients, and family members. Licensures, Certifications Licensed as a physician in the State of Maryland. Complete required CME credits for continuous licensure. Board Certified by the appropriate board consistent with the physician's specialty Physical Requirements Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to eighty percent of work time in performing duties and dealing with patients and families often during stressful situations. Ability to meet physical demands of the job with or without accommodation Principal Duties and Responsibilities
a. Performs initial history and physical and documents same appropriately in Electronic Medical Record. b. Writes standard orders in accordance with hospital policy. c. Writes appropriate orders related to pre-existing conditions. d. Discusses physical and/or emotional findings of patient, which may interfere with care of the patient with provider colleagues and practice staff as necessary.
a. Evaluates medical, social, and educational needs of assigned patients. b. Initiates referral to appropriate ancillary departments and community resources based on patient need and documents on the progress note. c. Writes progress notes for each visit documenting pertinent information regarding patient progress and treatment regime. d. Writes orders appropriate to the patient's care requirements in compliance with existing contract. e. Establishes medical diagnoses in compliance with contract. f. Makes immediate referral of acute and or life-threatening patient conditions to emergency department or specialist physician as ne needed. Documents physical findings and treatment plan pertaining to same.
a. Participates actively in health teaching of patient and family to include preventative health care as well as current medical condition and treatment regime. Evidence of same by documentation on progress note and/or established flow sheet. b. Plans and reviews home care instructions with patient and family if needed. Include needs for service provided by community resources and hospital based ancillary services. Assumes responsibility for utilizing opportunities for educational advancement by pursuing activities to meet identified educational needs and those required for continued certification as well as attending mandatory in service training.
