Lead A&P Technician

Primary Purpose of the Position

This position works as a team member performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Corporate and General Aviation aircrafts. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality.

Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Oversee and assign tasks to A&P mechanics
  • Conduct maintenance briefings to team members as required
  • Perform or supervise OJT training when required
  • Oversee work order maintenance database entries and corrective actions
  • Monitor and maintain documentation of projects
  • Monitor and enforce company and Certified Repair Station policies and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel when needed
  • Provide updates and project timelines to the Director of Maintenance
  • Perform efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance, and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and company policies.
  • Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting & completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.
  • Punctual to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED plus relevant certifications required at the minimum.
  • Active and current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics License
  • Minimum of 2 years of General Aviation and/or Corporate aircraft maintenance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals.
  • Possess adequate tools.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience on King Air, Cessna Citation, Dassault Falcon, Embraer Phenom, Embraer Praetor, Gulfstream, Hawker and/or King Air aircraft strongly preferred.
  • Avionics experience.


Additional Responsibilities:

As a condition of your employment, you will be required to participate in the AOG / On Call program. Training will be provided.

Reports to: the Director of Maintenance

Supervisory Responsibility: This job has supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA Status: This position is non-exempt.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; chemicals including aviation fuels, oils, and lavatory fluid. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Travel: This position requires some travel.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends.
