Summary:

Lead the coordination and overall integration of the Mechanical Engineering of Projects within a manufacturing environment. This includes leading/participating in the design and implementation of solutions for technical challenges as the Mechanical SME for the specified projects. All projects will have an extensive strategic impact on the future of ATI.

Working within the structure of an integrated Project Team:



  • Identify the technical solutions for critical opportunities and problems within our manufacturing environment.
  • Determine the Project Scope.
  • Perform the required mechanical engineering to design and implement the solution.
  • Identify the required Project Budget and control Project spend to the Budget.
  • Identify the Project Implementation Plan and implement Project per the Plan.
  • Develop the required Project Specifications to support the design and procurement of the Project solution.
  • Evaluate Technical Specifications provided by Outside Suppliers for conformance to Project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Schedule based on the Project Implementation Plan, considering the availability of the impacted Operation. Lead Project Resources involved in the Mechanical aspects of the Project in achievement of the Plan.
  • Coordinate the resources at the Project location to install and commission the Project solution, through the achievement of the Project Objectives.
  • Participate with Internal and External Resources to develop technical expertise in application of the Mechanical Engineering principles with ATI's production processes.

Requirements:



  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Extensive project management experience in a manufacturing environment.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Knowledge of engineering principles and methods. This includes engineering strategy and tactics, product demonstration, engineering techniques, and engineering control systems
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solution and solve problems
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required in dealing with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Capable of "driving" the decision making process in strategic or tactical situations, including "troubleshooting" efforts
  • Viewed as a technical "expert" in select processes and/or technical field for the corporation
  • Capable of assuming responsibility for the technical growth of less-experienced departmental engineers
  • Ability to assist in the definition of the strategic technical direction of the organization and the Corporation
  • Working knowledge of fundamental project management skills with a proven record of project management success on large & major strategic projects
