Position: Plant Accountant

General Purpose:

As a Plant Accountant, you will support the daily accounting activities of the Cooperative, including accounts payable and receivable, month-end processes, year-end audit processes, and various special projects. Your responsibilities will encompass general ledger transactions and reports, balancing and reconciliations, depreciation, tax reports, cash receipts and disbursements, fixed assets, and asset management.

Position: Plant Accountant Manager

General Purpose:

As a Plant Accountant Manager, you will be SECO Energy's subject matter expert in plant accounting. You will provide training and support to all departments regarding work order procedures, accuracy in material, assembly units, and asset recordkeeping. Additionally, you will support accounts payable and receivable, daily accounting activities, month-end processes, year-end audit processes, and various special projects, including general ledger transactions and reports, balancing, reconciliations, depreciation, tax reports, cash receipts and disbursements, fixed assets, and asset management as needed.

Plant Accountant - Minimum Required Qualifications and Competencies:

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Completion of RUS Borrower Accounting course within three years of hire date.
  • Completion of NRECA Workorder and Plant Accounting Procedures course within three years of hire date or equivalent experience.


Experience:


  • Minimum of five years of experience in plant accounting, asset management, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, cost accounting principles, balancing, and reconciling accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in related accounting/business applications.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a concentration in accounting.
  • Accounting experience or similar work within the electric utility or related industry.


Plant Accountant Manager: Minimum Required Qualifications and Competencies:

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Completion of RUS Borrower Accounting course within one year of hire date.
  • Completion of NRECA Workorder and Plant Accounting Procedures course within three years of hire date or equivalent experience.


Experience:


  • Minimum of six years of experience in plant accounting, asset management, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, cost accounting principles, balancing, and reconciling accounts, with multiple years of direct related experience in plant accounting or a related role, preferably within the electric utility industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in related accounting/business applications.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a concentration in accounting.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Accounting experience or similar work within the electric utility or related industry.
  • RUS or FERC accounting experience.
