This is your opportunity to join a Service organization at a global company. The AXS group of Bruker Corporation, is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-success driven professional for the role of Field Applications Engineer.

Job Description

Perform the installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, application training and support of Bruker Electron Microscope products. This position documents all job activities through written reports and is responsible for related service inventory. Candidate must have excellent customer relation skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions. Travel is 50% or higher across US, EMEA and APAC Regions.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Installation of analytical instrumentation
  • Conduct training of customer on basic operation of equipment
  • Training and support of customer on usage of software and hardware on-site and remotely
  • Assist in training of Field Engineers both on site and at factory
  • Analyze malfunctioning EM equipment and determine corrective action. Replace faulty components and make necessary adjustments and alignments
  • Test and demonstrate proper performance after maintenance and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to written PM guidelines
  • Prepare and submit reports documenting all onsite job activities with accuracy and detail
  • Suggest product improvement to improve performance, functionality, and serviceability
  • Between assignments be available, during working hours, for remote support and unplanned service calls
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure service was successful and that now further actions are required
  • Promote and maintain Service Agreements
  • Keep current on new product and product changes to constantly improve knowledge and capabilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor


Qualifications

The Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose and repair complex equipment accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with both internal and external customers
  • Familiarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipment
  • Familiarity with the software upgrading, use and simple networking of personal computers
  • Ability to travel routinely to customer site to perform duties of position
  • Strong relationship building skills, with a focus on results to meet and exceed goals

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or related sciences
  • PhD preferred with 3-years experience with EM operation
  • previous service experience installing, repairing and maintaining complex electronic systems
  • Waive experience requirements for new graduates with a science or physics degree

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,817 and $127,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
