Job Description

Become a champion for children's health with a career at CHA. We serve with purpose and passion to help 220 member children's hospitals improve kids' health and well-being.

Where You'll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do
Create, develop, and modify general computer applications, interfaces, or specialized utility programs. Well-versed in research, design, development, and testing of code. Analyzes user needs and develops appropriate software solutions to meet those needs. Designs and customizes software for specific customer use with the aim of creating an improved user experience and higher value for the organization. Analyze and design databases within an application.



  • Collaborate with IT colleagues, CHA business units and Project Management Office to design and develop application systems and programs.
  • Participate in project management, architecture, and design processes.
  • Work within change control guidelines for production implementations.
  • Test and revise each solution, including user acceptance testing, to ensure proper performance and efficiencies are met.
  • Build deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps and Octopus) for services and projects.
  • Document solutions in accordance with development standards and procedures as outlined by the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of development systems used by the Web and Development groups, and systemic relationships with outside support organizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production application errors ensuring strict adherence to IT change processes.
  • Prepare revision documentation as outlined in the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Design and propose database objects based on the organization's data policy.
  • Design, implement, and support reporting systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation for database

Experience and Skills

What You'll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.



  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience programming in a team environment.
  • Programming; troubleshooting; problem-solving.
  • Ability to provide end-user training on both 3rd party and in-house developed applications.
  • Strong understanding of the .NET architecture.
  • .NET (C#/ ASP.NET), REST, JSON, JavaScript, .NET Framework.
  • Experience with ORM's, like Entity Framework or Dapper.
  • Experience utilizing source control system (Azure DevOps) desired.
  • Experience with Single Sign-On (Okta) desired.
  • Development experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake desired.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle methods and client/server architecture in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in health care in a team environment.
  • Azure methodologies like Kubernetes, Azure Functions, GRPC services, etc.
  • Experience with Docker, containerization.
  • Experience utilizing and building Octopus or another automated deployment system.
  • CRM (Salesforce) development and support experience.
  • Sitecore development and support experience.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, T-SQL, MVC nice to have.
  • Experience creating effective database design and implementation nice to have.
