The Position

The Payroll Specialist II performs a wide variety of payroll activities, including regular and off-cycle payroll processing, posting to the general ledger, auditing, compiling and validating reports, and supporting month- and year-end processes. This position is also responsible for the administration of levies, garnishments, expense reimbursements and employment verifications. Analyzes payroll data and creates Dayforce reports as required for business needs. Provides backup coverage for other payroll staff. Assists Payroll Manager with analysis of payroll procedures and Dayforce configurations, as well as other projects as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Process regular Biweekly and/or Semimonthly payroll and off-cycle pays, including following up on missing information, auditing and validating data, and posting to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile and report deduction remittances.
  • Complete employment verifications in a timely manner.
  • Field internal and external inquiries (phone or email) and provide accurate information and/or referrals to appropriate personnel.
  • Develop and maintain a high skill level in Excel and system reporting (specifically Dayforce). Provide analysis where needed.
  • Perform system audits and reconciliations.
  • Assist Payroll Manager with projects as needed.
  • Support month- and year-end processes.
  • Provide backup coverage for other payroll staff.



Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Professional Certification (LPC or CPP) are a plus
  • 3+ years in a related position
  • General office experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
