The Role:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is primarily responsible for process optimization by leading cross-functional collaboration to manage and execute multiple optimization/continuous improvement projects including capital projects simultaneously from conception to implementation, focused on safety, environmental compliance, reliability, production output, yields, and fixed cost efficiency.

What You'll Do:

  • Accountable to all Roquette & site policies and procedures relating to HSE, Quality, GMP etc.
  • Responsible for compliance and participation in all HSE programs.
  • Support and align with site objectives .
  • Participate in site improvements initiatives and complete various audits as assigned.
  • Manage and execute multiple process continuous improvement and problem-solving projects simultaneously from conception through successful implementation, both independently and by leading or collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Manages, executes and performs engineering assignments, PxB/CAPEX either stand alone or as a significant portion of a larger capital, expense or process improvement projects
  • Leads interface with vendors, contractors and consultants on project matters.
  • Participate in plant start-up and shutdowns.
  • Provide technical expertise in the science and practical operation of processes. For example, focus on corn steeping technology, separation and/or evaporation processes.
  • Lead Operations teams in hands-on troubleshooting of the manufacturing process for moderately complex safety, environmental, quality, and production problems and recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Develop critical control variable process operation ranges and advanced Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Develop process system engineering standards for equipment selection and modification, including block flow diagrams, PFDs, mass and energy balances, P&IDs, and other process documentation.
  • Trains Operations personnel on new and/or revised equipment and process operations, both temporary and permanent.

What You'll Have:

  • BS Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Microbiology degree
  • 1+ yrs experience in relatable processing operations; 3+ yrs experience preferred
  • Corn Wet Milling process / Separation / Crystallization / Evaporation experience desired
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills and personal drive in continuous process improvement and cost optimization
  • Demonstrated complex operational problem-solving and troubleshooting experience
  • Demonstrated process-oriented project management and project leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Be willing to participate in plant start-ups and shutdowns

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, climb stairs, stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the employee to work in hot, humid connections and to lift at least 25 pounds on occasion.
