Job Description

Where You'll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do
The Member Relations Manager role is responsible for managing key member relations' operational activities, including membership recruitment, retention, and engagement. Other responsibilities include the application and annual dues processes, documentation and reporting of membership contacts, participation, and activities within the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), and supporting and leading efforts for coordinated membership tracking and communication across Children's Hospital Association (CHA).



  • Serve in an account management role for a select portion of the membership, building relationships, understanding challenges and opportunities, and serving as point person.
  • Manage new membership requests and application process, identifying and prioritizing organizations for recruitment and assisting with questions and information gathering.
  • Ensure completion of annual membership dues invoicing and collection processes.
  • Facilitate requests regarding the organization, membership, and available programs, products, and services.
  • Manage the onboard and off-board processes for new organizations and associated contacts through emails, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
  • Manage and update contact and organizational record changes within the CRM.
  • Monitor key metrics and develop and execute strategies for recruiting new members and retaining current members.
  • Create, develop, and monitor program, product and service reports, participation reports, key staff contact reports, and other tracking mechanisms to support member relations strategy.
  • Collaborate with key individuals across the organization, within the membership, and among external stakeholders managing member relations activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison for key hospital constituents ensuring continuous updates on their strategies, challenges, needs, contacts, satisfaction levels, potential opportunities, etc.

Experience and Skills

What You'll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.



  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of five years of professional experience in membership, member engagement, leadership support, or committee support.
  • Advanced knowledge of Customer Relationship Management programs. Salesforce knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry, including key terms.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to collect, synthesize, and leverage engagement data.
  • Strong knowledge of effective marketing strategies and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Natural ability to make connections between ideas and/or people.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in a variety of mediums including email, phone, virtually, and in person.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and Teams applications.
