Department Description Jail Psychiatric Services (JPS) is a satellite contract program of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The program provides traditional inpatient and outpatient mental health services to inmates incarcerated inside the two Sacramento County jails located at 651 I Street in downtown Sacramento and Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) in Elk Grove. Position Information
Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to work in a highly stressful jail custody setting, with incarcerated inmates which may present hazardous conditions, including working in a potentially crowded, malodorous, and noisy environment, of a highly restrictive and confining nature. Must be in good physical health, hear and speak well. Willingness to work under an institutional "No Hostage Policy." Ability to pass and maintain the Sacramento Sheriff Department's Security Clearance. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, as scheduled and assigned. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment. Special Requirements
