NRDC is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our people helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act and many of the implementing regulations. Today, our team of more than 700 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications experts, and others work across the United States and the globe from our offices in Beijing; Bozeman, Montana; Chicago; New Delhi; New York; San Francisco; Santa Monica; and Washington, D.C.

NRDC is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to work with the Center for Campaigns and Organizing team in our Chicago or San Francisco office.

Position Summary

The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and operations support for the E2 team with focus on supporting E2's executive director.



Responsibilities

    Provide administrative and logistical support to E2 executive director and other assigned team members, per NRDC's administrative guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Provide budgeting and accounting support, including processing invoices, maintaining contracts, preparing reports, and tracking spend.
    • Responsible for contract submission and facilitation of institutional processes related to contract approval and vendor set-up.
    • Manage electronic filing systems and databases related to contracts, invoices and other team files for the assigned team.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to E2 executive director and other assigned team members, per NRDC's administrative guidelines. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • Schedule calendar appointments and meetings primarily for E2's executive director with a wide range of external stakeholders.
    • Draft, edit, format, or proofread materials, correspondence or reports.
    • Create and submit expense reports on behalf of assigned team members; may be asked to book travel and plan associated logistics.
    • Schedule, organize, prepare for, and follow-up on assigned meetings, including E2's monthly chapter director calls, and planning logistics, preparing materials, taking notes, and sending out action items.
    • Assist with event planning and management, which may require working with external parties, event scheduling, arranging catering, printing, materials preparation, and liaising with Workplace Strategy colleagues.
  • Provide support to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and information-sharing within the department and with external institutional partners.
  • Learn, coordinate and execute multiple software platforms to support E2's program and advocacy work
    • Become a Salesforce Super User, and develop the ability to send action alerts and event invitations;
    • Ability to learn and execute Marketing Cloud;
    • Ability to update the E2 website;
    • Administer the E2 Zoom account, including tech during monthly webinar series.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • And/or equivalent education or experience.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $55,500 to $61,200.

Our offices are open and we are operating in a hybrid model. We offer NRDCers flexibility, and we ask them to come into the office and spend meaningful time there in collaboration with their colleagues. We call this purposeful presence.
