Summary of Position:

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to gather requirements, design proper controls, and implement the strategy. This includes team systems and tools, lab networks, and access to cloud infrastructure. This position will be working with information technology to design and develop networks and systems based on the needs of the organization. The Engineer will conduct research, analyze data, develop prototypes, and troubleshoot errors.

Essential Functions:

  • Provision and manage customer's infrastructure, including EC2, CloudFormation Templates, AppStream, and Load Balancers
  • Build dashboards and alarming to drive Operational Excellence
  • Work with a wide range of technologies, and customer products
  • Build client Application Environments including VPC, EC2, RDS, SSM, S3
  • Architect and setup infrastructure on client site and client gov-cloud environments
  • Analyze and Support the setup of new devices connectivity to applications
  • Monitor network connectivity between all internal and external systems
  • Work closely with Application leads to understand needs and plan for infrastructure demands
  • Drive automation of routine tasks to help scale the operations
  • Conduct research, analyze data, develop prototypes, and troubleshoot errors
  • Design and develop networks and systems based on the needs of the organization
  • Maintain hardware architecture documentation for all infrastructure and networking components
  • Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives building highly secure working environments
  • Work collaboratively with internal security teams and key stakeholders to intake requirements and deliver a customer obsessed IAM experience
  • Develop tools and processes that collect and rationalize data from different sources
  • Develop tools and frameworks to reduce our operations workload
  • Work closely with our Network Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth software roll-outs
  • Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with an effective escalation of senior-level engineering teams

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems and Network Administration, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with a focus on areas such as systems, network, and/or application security
  • 5+ years of experience with web protocols and Linux/Unix tools and architecture
  • 5+ years of experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments using Python, Java, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across multiple business units
  • Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
  • Demonstrable expertise in specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environments
  • Practical knowledge of Role-based identity management including SPML and SAML protocols for provisioning
  • Experience in the Identity and Access Management field with Practical experience in LDAP and AD implementations in support of enterprise directory services
  • Familiarity with Cloud Security controls and deployment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and development of creative solutions
  • Understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Automation, testing, or monitoring framework development experience
  • Understanding of common network and federated authentication protocols like Kerberos, OAUTH, NTLM, OIDC, SAML, FIDO, etc.
  • Expertise in directory schema design and data integration
