The role:

As a Senior Staff Designer, it will be your responsibility to imagine the future of the Invest product, create and drive new initiatives, set a high standard for excellence, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary set of stakeholders. Additionally, it will be your responsibility to bring cohesion across our product ecosystem by dissolving product boundaries and considering a better way to support day-to-day financial interactions overall.

At this level, you'll also have considerable responsibility to help grow and mature the design organization at large. This includes coordinating designers across product areas to align the larger SoFi ecosystem and acting as mentor to various designers in the organization.

Responsibilities:



  • Design product features from start to finish, from the early sketching and concept phases to final pixel-perfect Sketch files that are ready to ship
  • Work closely with the Design Manager, Research, Product Management, and Engineering partners and be able to quickly iterate based on feedback
  • Develop user-centered design solutions based on research, member insights, and industry best-practices
  • Proven track record in considering the end-to-end experience with considerations across Product, Marketing and Support
  • Present design concepts and clearly communicate design intent through design specs and presentation documents
  • Collaborate with other product designers working on other projects to drive alignment and consistency across the entire user experience
  • Mentor and grow the team


Qualification and experience:



  • 12+ yrs experience of experience working in product design/UX roles
  • Strong design point of view, craft and aesthetics across all common platforms (Android, iOS, & Responsive Web)
  • Track record for leadership -- delivering end to end solutions from initial concepts to measurable outcomes
  • Strong collaboration & influence skills across cross-functional teams including research, product management, engineering and marketing
  • Ability to leverage user research, user needs and product data to inform product definition and design solutions.
  • Ability to navigate and manage senior leadership, representing design perspective and advocating for user needs in the context of business and technology drivers
  • Strong expertise in common design tools (ie Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc)
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design

  • Experience working on mobile-first financial products
  • Deep interest in Investing and understanding of investment concepts

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
