POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analytics - Business Intelligence Analyst facilitates internal and external reporting for Xtend and our credit union partners and extracts valuable, actionable insights from client and internal data by creating custom queries and conducting thorough analyses. This includes assisting with and executing various Xtend Marketing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Initiatives.

This position involves close collaboration with the AVP of Communications and our network and internal partners to maintain, improve, and sell existing and new Xtend services to credit unions.

The Business Intelligence Analyst works to maintain and support data-driven decisions throughout the credit union industry, proportioning a data driven culture in order to transform the way credit union organizations operate, forecast, communicate and deliver.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Extract raw data from CU*BASE; perform daily tasks associated with monthly and recurring responsibilities; complete monthly processing for services involving running queries, downloading information, creating reports, and conducting in-depth analyses to provide actionable recommendations for internal staff and credit union clients.

2. Provide weekly and monthly reporting updates; handle monthly and quarterly reporting for both recurring and one-time services; assist internal departments with reporting needs; create databases and provide insights for various purposes.

3. Analyze existing data analytics practices to isolate areas ripe for improvement or enhancement.

4. Serve as a client-facing liaison between Credit Union Professionals, Credit Union Data, and Analytical tool offerings.

5. Drive marketing and sales efforts for the Data Analytics business under the guidance of the AVP of Communications.

6. Participates in client education programs with an emphasis on the utility of data, analytical product offerings, and industry trends in data usage.

7. Maintain a professional network and rapport for future new product releases, ala carte projects, and consulting engagements.

8. Assist in analyzing Xtend's Corporate data, identifying opportunities and threats, supporting management with trends and forecasts, and offering data insight as delegated by management.

9. Provide analytical services to benefit our credit union clients and the industry by establishing best practices, education, consulting, Ala Carte Services, and recurring analytical services.

10. Assist in coordinating client education on CU*BASE (CU*Answers' proprietary credit union software) data analytics specific to marketing and sales with special attention paid to relevant dashboards.

11. Contribute to the development and improvement of current toolset of products; consult credit union clients on tool products.

12. Deliver, speak to, and educate credit union clients on project results, service reports, and large-scale analysis via Web, Video, or otherwise.

13. Facilitate, schedule, and engage in sales calls and day-to-day onboarding activities for credit unions; contribute to service launches and onboardings.

14. Maintain client communications via Outlook email, client service portal Zendesk, and escalate communications and questions to the AVP of Communications as needed.

15. Maintain department quality control of folders and shared data by performing regular internal and CU*BASE file audits.

16. Work closely with other Xtend Departments for internal projects and custom query needs including but not limited to pulling information for Annual Leadership Conference and providing data insights for various purposes.

17. Set and meet annual goals for your professional and personal growth that align with the annual Business Plan goals.

18. Meet deadlines for both internal department projects and client service requests and launch calendars.

19. Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Two-year degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience is required.

2. Extensive knowledge of credit union operations, regulations and procedures, accounting, and balancing functions is preferred.

3. Superior research and analytical skills to track and predict trends are required.

4. Strong communication skills to deliver software support to clients with varying personality styles is required.

5. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data is required.

6. Must be able to collaborate effectively with executives, creative teams, research and development, and product development teams.

7. Excellent negotiation, problem solving, and analytical skills are required.

8. Proficient in standard office software applications, especially Microsoft Excel (MS Office) is required.

9. Classroom training experience and expertise are preferred.

10. Must be willing to take calculated risks and manage expectations of both internal development teams and potential and existing customers.

Xtend operates in a professional office building setting. Some job assignments at Xtend are primarily conducted within the office building(s) while others have moderate to extensive travel responsibilities as described in the Job Functions and/or Job Qualifications section(s) above. The individual must have manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and mouse. Visual color discrimination (the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness) is required for creating and reviewing branded documents.
