Summary

The Department of Biology at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Microbiology.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach Microbiology and the general biology sequence courses
  • Provide service to the department
  • Provide undergraduate academic advising
  • Engage undergraduate students in research while maintaining a scholarship agenda

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a microbiology program; ABD applicants will be considered, contingent on a successful doctoral defense prior to August 2024
  • Ability to develop courses in their specialty
  • Evidence of effective teaching
  • Evidence of ability or potential to engage undergraduate students in research
  • Willingness and ability to support the Mission of Saint Xavier University and the Mercy Tradition's value of service to others (https://www.sxu.edu/about/mission.asp).
  • Be legally able to work in the United States.
