Do you thrive in the pursuit of ensuring excellence in environmental consulting services for your clients? SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.

The Business Application Analyst will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and developing the project management tools used to support a key portfolio of unit priced projects. The applications that will be leveraged in this position are Smartsheet online spreadsheets, Deltek Vision Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Microsoft Power Platform, and custom developed automations written in Python. The Business Application Analyst must be comfortable understanding, learning, and troubleshooting these applications to ensure a smooth operation of managing the portfolio of projects.

This role is ideal for individuals who not only have a knack for technology and data management but also possess a consulting mindset, focusing on understanding and solving the unique challenges of our clients through innovative solutions. Work hours may vary depending on project needs, and your skills. It will also require strong communication with other teams in the broader Technology Department as well as teams throughout the business.

This is a full time, salaried position with the ability to work remotely, remote/office hybrid, or full time in an office based in the United States.

What you will accomplish

  • Develop and maintain Smartsheet workflows, notifications, data transfer integrations, and spreadsheets to streamline project manager's work processes performed in Smartsheet.
  • Analyze and extract ERP system data in reports and direct SQL queries to support project management and decision-making processes.
  • Advise and develop integration and automation improvements that would benefit the overall project management and decision-making processes utilizing Python programming.
  • Collaborating with project teams to understand their data and reporting needs, offering insights and solutions that drive efficiency and value for our clients.
  • Embracing a consulting mindset by actively seeking to understand the unique challenges faced by our clients and proposing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Engage professionally with business units, staff, and teams to understand the needs and requirements for issues, requests, and automation improvements.

Experience and qualifications for success

  • 1-year Smartsheet experience, having built a spreadsheet and automations within the system.
  • College degree, Microsoft Certification, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience administering a professional services-oriented ERP, ideally Deltek Vision.
  • Experience writing SQL database queries and reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Experience developing scripts and programs in Python.
  • Experience with professional services financials a plus.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Strong consulting mindset and skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

An employee in this position can expect an annual salary of $73,840.00-$96,720.00/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
