The Workshop Trainer will facilitate online workshops to both inspire and educate participants on important financial principles. Workshops typically range from one to one and one-half hours and are typically conducted in the afternoon or evening Eastern time. This position works closely with other members of the BFLP team including the Faculty Director, Program Manager, and other Trainers

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Facilitate online workshops on financial principles through an overview of financial topics, case discussion, videos, and pre- and post-workshop polling
  • May also provide in person training
  • Develop a strong understanding of workshop materials and online teaching model to ensure delivery in alignment with the BFLP's philosophy and practices
  • Help young adults gain important financial skills through workshops and foster a mindset to become financially responsible
  • Engage participants so they are more likely to apply financial concepts to their daily lives
  • Measure program results with surveys and polling
  • Collaborate effectively with BFLP team to maximize workshop effectiveness
  • Provide feedback on workshops in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Finance, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching or training
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, training, or related experience
  • Must have experience in the financial services industry and/or knowledge of personal finance.
  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets), Zoom, and similar applications
  • Must be a self-starter with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong ability to connect with diverse learners Must be committed to the mission and vision of The Babson Financial Literacy Project
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions
  • Must be creative and resourceful, must be able to engage effectively with young adults, and be comfortable with technology and teaching in Zoom

?HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • Online workshops are run in the afternoon and evening Eastern Time and typically last for about one to one and a half hours with the expectation that the trainer will run at least twenty workshops per semester
  • Some in-person workshops are delivered in the greater Boston area but are optional for the trainer
  • This is a part-time temporary position with the exact schedule to be determined in collaboration with the manager
