Some key duties and responsibilities include:

* Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and asbuilt surveys.
* Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
* Complete boundary reductions and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software.
* Download, maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage survey database. Review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control.
* Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
* Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment.
* Lead CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed.
* Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.
* Mentor and assist in training junior staff members.
* Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

* Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.
* Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents.
* Knowledge and ability to deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies.
* Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques.
* Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems.
* Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software.
* Problem solving techniques.
* Possesses oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG.
* Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.

Education and experience requirements are:

• Bachelor's of Science (BS) or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.

• LS License required.

• 6 years of experience minimum required, 7 preferred, in the Surveying Construction Industry.
