Instructor I - Part-Time

Graduate School USA

Our part-time Instructors are responsible for performing ad-hoc delivery of instruction to students in Graduate School USA's Federal Human Resources programs in-person or on virtual training platforms in asynchronous and/or synchronous fashion.

Instructors typically teach full day sessions from 9am-4pm EST ranging from 1-3 days (or 24 hours) per quarter. Sessions are offered on weekdays (Monday-Friday). Instructors may choose to teach more of less frequently based upon individual availability.

Instructional opportunities are available remotely nationally and hybrid options are available for those in the Washington, DC metro market.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform part-time instructor duties teaching students in person, and on virtual training platforms (asynchronous and synchronous).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on specialized subjects to students.
  • Complement instructor presentations with supportive educational materials.
  • As needed, develop lesson plans, special assignments and projects for students.
  • Ensure stimulating classroom learning experiences to students.
  • Answer and respond to students' questions on the subject.
  • Presents assigned class material in accordance with established learning objectives that are developed by curriculum departments.
  • Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies and media to engage students, including cooperative and experiential learning.
  • Ensure compliance of GSUSA guidelines and processes.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills.


Requirements:



  • Minimum of ten years of professional experience in a federal government human resources setting, preferably with expertise in staffing & placement and position classification
  • Ability and willingness to instruct Basic and Intermediate level courses in the Federal Human Resources program
  • Experience in successful classroom presentation and instruction in a virtual or in person environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher
  • Optional Certifications such as the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or the Certified Government Training Professional (CGTP) a plus


For virtual training, system/hardware requirements include:



  • Windows 10
  • Mac OSX with MacOS 10.9 or later.
  • Large or dual monitor.
  • Broadband wired or wireless internet connection.
  • Speakers and a microphone - built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth.
  • A Webcam or HD Webcam - built-in or USB plug-in.

Our defined compensation structure is market competitive and is built to reward performance. Our Instructor roles fall under two designations based on skills/experience. Those selected for an Instructor I designation can expect a reasonable estimate of the current range to be $525.00 to $550.00 per day. We take a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including but not limited to: job and level hired into, location, skill set; experience and training; peer compensation and other business and organizational needs. This range is subject to change.
