Primary Purpose Responsible for leading the efficient and effective management of the global end user enterprise computing platforms by developing the use of virtualization, maintaining a consistent OS image, driving efficiency in the end user experience and troubleshooting systemic issues across end user computing platforms. Minimum Specifications Education A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred. Experience Must have either Desktop or Mobile device experience Desktop Two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Windows operating system images, packaging software for deployment and enterprise-wide management end user devices using centralized management utilities. Two (2) years of experience with Active Directory group policy design, administration, troubleshooting and support. Experience with implementation and support of desktop virtualization or Microsofts SCCM. Experience building or managing is preferred. Recomposing and updating preferred. Experience with the following is highly desired: SCCM Packaging applications Intune configuration Server architecture and hardware experience Packaging applications Single SignOn or Password Self-Service Teradici endpoint management -----OR----- Mobile Device Two (2) years of experience designing and supporting hardware and software used to deploy, manage, track, and audit mobile devices is required. Two (2) years of experience managing or troubleshooting iOS and Android devices is required. Experience with Apple Business Manager is required. Experience with Android Enterprise is preferred. AirWatch Professional Certification preferred Experience with the following is highly desired: SCCM VMWare (Horizon, View or vCenter) PowerShell skills Intune configuration Server architecture and hardware Equivalent Education and/or Experience May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements. Certification/Registration/Licensure: None Required Tests for Placement Skills or Special Abilities: Must have back-end support expertise with desktop virtualization or mobile device management. Must have an in-depth technical knowledge and demonstrated experience of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policy management or IOS and Android. Must have knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies related to an end-user computing environment. Must have experience in system architecture design, recommending & implementing change, and communicating recommendations to senior leaders. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with department personnel, user departments, and managers with regard to business needs and technical advancements. Must be able to prepare specifications and architecture/design documentation for complex programs that may have client server components. Must have a collaborative work style that includes and values the views of others in recommendations and decisions. Must demonstrate the ability to create reports. Must be able to write scripts in PowerShell in order to automate tasks. Responsibilities 1. Leads, plans, architects, designs, documents and implements desktop virtualization and all aspects of end user computing platforms, including hardware, operating systems, enterprise software, and peripheral upgrades in order to improve services provided to system users. Creates detailed technical plans, drawings and hour-by-hour plans for documentation as needed. 2. Develops and manages technologies for the deployment of new applications, software packages, updates, and fixes to the end-user computing environment in a secure, efficient and user-friendly manner. 3. Serves as the highest escalation point for technical issues with regard to client-side application compatibility issues or user interface issues with endpoint devices. Works directly with vendors to troubleshoot and make recommendations to management as needed. 4. Formulates, plans, and executes end user computing projects. Identifies, investigates, and advises on emerging technologies and products, and assess their suitability of use within the overall IT strategy. 5. Contributes as a key player to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of end user computing platforms by proposing and developing appropriate measures and operational support options. 6. Consults with end users and business analysts to identify inefficiencies in end user computing platforms and workflows. Proposes methods to improve the end user experience, plans and executes changes accordingly. 7. Assists in the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of the organizations disaster recovery and business continuity plans with regard to end user computing platforms. 8. Work with customers, end users, and business analysts to understand requirements for new business processes and compliance requirements for end user computing platforms. Produces high level oral and written plans, presenting complex technical matters in clear terms tailored to specific audiences. 9. Proactively monitors and identifies systemic issues and resource constraints in end user computing platforms and works to remediate to ensure uptime and efficient operation. 10. Stays abreast of new developments and the latest trends in end user computing platforms by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. Job Accountabilities 1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. 2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
