Job Summary

CenterPoint Energy is looking for an Associate Gas Measurement Analyst to join our Gas Measurement Team, located in Houston, TX.

You will have the ability to: monitors, calculates, analyses and reports on CenterPoint Energy's gas distribution system. Reporting includes gas measurement, billing, and Lost & Unaccounted for Gas (LUFG).

Essential Functions

  • Collects, analyzes, and validates electronic flow measurement data from telemetered accounts.
  • Analyzes and resolves hourly, daily, and monthly data exception reports on electronic data collection units.
  • Helps and direction to field technicians in instrument setup, configurations, troubleshooting data collection equipment (telephone, modem, instrumentation, etc.), and maintain documentation on measurement activities as required.
  • Evaluate gas capacity and gas usage to make sure meter stations are appropriately sized to measure gas consumption correctly.
  • Provide support for LUFG reporting and data gathering through auditing third party gas volumes for appropriateness and comparing system receipts to deliveries.
  • Resolves questions from third parties and end-users and provides volume calculation backup for data and estimates.
  • Maintains and modifies supporting data programs use in collection of field data, data retrieval, compilation, and reporting.
  • Provides data record management for gas volume administration and audit requests.

Education Description

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, will consider a combination of education and related experience in natural gas operations totaling eight (8) years, where one (1) year of applicable college equals two (2) years of related work experience. Experience in lieu of education is in addition to the Experience requirements.
