Job Type ClassifiedDepartment County AttorneyAbout the Position The Civil Division of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office represents and defends Maricopa County, the various elected County officials, and employees in a variety of litigation matters in State and Federal Courts. This attorney position will be a part of the litigation team in the Civil Division defending these various litigation matters. The successful candidate will work with a team of litigators handling cases that include excessive force, wrongful death, and other police liability matters; state law tort claims ranging from trip and fall to road design and maintenance issue; prosecuting environmental and zoning enforcement matters; and other matters as necessary. The position requires collaborating with others in the Civil Division to bring about a successful resolution to the cases, as well as providing clients with advice on litigation strategies and assessments of liabilities.
