An Accounting and Wealth Management firm near Southington, CT is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. They have been a reputable professional services firm in business for over 50 years, providing accounting, tax and wealth management services to clients of various industries, with a commitment to business ethics and client service. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on detail with a desire to grow professionally in a challenging industry where client satisfaction is paramount.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state tax laws.
  • Calculation and preparation of personal and business estimated Federal and State tax payments.
  • Developing tax and financial strategies and implementing them accordingly.
  • Communicate with clients and staff to ensure timely deliverable reviews of financial statements with a focus on tax law compliance and profit maximization.
  • A strong commitment to professional education and remaining current with the business environment and tax law changes.
  • Assist/supervise junior staff as necessary.
  • Interpret, investigate, prepare and respond to correspondence from the IRS and other Taxing Agencies.

Qualifications:
  • Professional licensure required - either Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the preparation and review of Federal and State tax returns.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Software knowledge - Tax Software; Microsoft Suite of Products; QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering results to achieve client satisfaction.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
