AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members working in San Diego, California.

Support the SSC PAC Radiation Detection, Implementation and Computation (RADIAC) program in the design, development and deployment of radiation detection system. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of technicians, engineers and scientists to research detection technologies, interface with users to understand needs and requirements and field complete radiation detection solutions.

  • Provide engineering support, process management and quality assurance for the RADIAC project.
  • Provide technical analyses for the research, design, development and modeling for the production, maintenance, changes and modifications and other related services for RADIAC systems.
  • Interface with and support RADIAC system users in various training events and exercises.
  • Develop technical descriptions and materials for RADIAC systems.
Requirements

  • Must possess (preferred) or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Advanced degree (Master's, Ph.D., post-doctoral) in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or related degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 5-9 years of related Engineering work experience; advanced degree may be used as substitute.
  • Experience conducting research and development in the areas of radiation detection and related technologies required.
  • Experience in radiation detection system design and integration preferred.
  • Knowledge in radiation science and nuclear engineering and related discipline preferred.
  • Working knowledge in scripting and analysis software language like MATLAB and Python preferred.
  • Experience in working with DoD users preferred.
  • Ability to work in a small team environment.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving capability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range: $125-150K

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
