Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, janitorial, and grounds keepingto ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment on Campus. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections of the facility and address maintenance needs.
- Conduct repairs and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of equipment and systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Janitorial Services:
- Clean and sanitize designated areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and shared spaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Maintain cleanliness following established standards and protocols.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Groundskeeping:
- Maintain the exterior grounds, including lawns, walkways, and parking lots.
- Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and planting as needed.
- Monitor and address issues related to irrigation systems.
- Ensure that outdoor areas are aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure environment for all occupants.
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Record Keeping:
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and cleaning schedules.
- Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing projects and maintenance tasks.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience and Competencies:
- Proven experience in maintenance, janitorial services, and grounds keeping.
- Basic plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy objects.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to the populations served.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain background clearance.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A High School diploma or its equivalent is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in a combination of an office and outdoor setting.
