As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks qualified applicants for a Part-Time Coach
to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff by acting as the primary point of contact for all communication for the Academic Commons. Providing assistance to the general operation for the following programs, baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's bowling, women's bowling, competitive cheer, game day cheer, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's cycling, women's cycling, competitive dance, game day dance, football, men's golf, women's golf, women's lacrosse, men's rugby, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track and field, women's track and field, women's volleyball, and men's wrestling. This non-benefit eligible position will be required to work evening and weekends throughout the year. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will help provide leadership, management, and strategic planning for the program. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the head coach in practices and games.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Located within 10 minutes of downtown Indianapolis, Marian University is one of the nation's preeminent Catholic institutions of higher learning, and ranks in the Top 25 of US News & World Report's list of Midwest Region colleges, as well as Money magazine's list of Top 10 schools in Indiana "For Your Money". Marian University was founded in 1937 by the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana, and the Franciscan Values that the Sisters ingrained into the university's culture are still prevalent today. The university has experienced tremendous growth in the past 15 years under the leadership of President Daniel J. Elsener, including the opening of the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013 - the state's first new medical school in 110 years. Marian University's football team captured the
NAIA
national championship in 2012 and 2015. In 2016 and 2017, the women's basketball team won back -to-back
NAIA
nation championships. Marian University is also home to the most successful collegiate cycling program in the nation, which currently hold 42 national titles.
