Subrights Assistant

Description

The Subrights Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Subrights department while also communicating with publishers around the world. The position will report to the Director of Subsidiary Rights for FSG and Henry Holt.

What You'll Do:



  • Provide overall administrative support to the Subsidiary Rights Department
  • Assist in preparing, logging and tracking submissions
  • Fulfill file and production requests for licensees
  • Update and maintain various department logs and databases
  • Assist in creating seasonal and book fair rights guides
  • Assist and organize preparations for London and Frankfurt book fairs
  • Read and evaluate manuscripts and proposals for international markets
  • Communicate with authors and representatives from within the global publishing community


What You'll Bring:



  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate
    effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Foreign languages a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required, knowledge of Adobe ands InDesign a plus

  • Interest in publishing


This role will have an annual salary of $47,500.
