DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Public Health Program Administrator, you will lead the development of program direction for assigned public health programs, including the development of goals and objectives. It is essential to maintain a current understanding of the complexities of organ donation, donor designation rates, organ donation myths and misunderstandings, social determinants of health, and health disparities to inform the development and implementation of targeted interventions. This position participates in the review of policies and procedures and interprets and applies regulations to support job duties.


Within this profession, it is imperative to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organ donation partners as well as other federal, state, and local partners, providers, and governmental entities. You will also support and coordinate the development of grant applications where necessary to apply for funding in order to support organ donation initiatives and strategies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.
  • Work hours are flexible within normal business hours, with a 30-minute or 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be expected to report to the office one day per month, currently the third Thursday, or as needed or as directed by your supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
