ATI is currently seeking a Mason to join our facility in Cudahy, WI. Our Mason position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is an integral part of a dedicated team who take great pride in helping ATI achieve production and quality results. In this position, you will be responsible for laying out, erecting, and repairing concrete, brick, refractory, and fiber linings on boilers, furnaces, ovens, walls, floors foundations, building, and structures. A successful Mason is attentive and detail oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment and is motivated to quickly learn about ATI's products, processes, and quality standards. This is a first shift position from 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities
- Lays out from dimensional drawings, sketches and/or instructions.
- Masonry work on structures and walls, floors, foundations, buildings, furnaces, and all other brickwork.
- Prepares surfaces, repairs, and relines brickwork of furnaces using proper mortar mixture and various type refractory and bricks.
- Replaces furnace roofs, walls, and floors as required.
- Waterproofs erected structures when required.
- Frequently use equipment such as air hammers, chisels, sledgehammers, floats, trowels, plumb bobs, mixing equipment, mobile equipment, and others in performing masonry work.
- Perform work as described in the IAMAW labor agreement for a Mason Apprentice.
Basic Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
- Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension. The ability to read instructions, and perform simple measurements is critical.
- Journeyman status through a State Indenture Apprenticeship or minimum 6 years of direct on the job experience
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Blockwork experience
- Forklift Certified
