Sr. Network Engineer - 24-017 - San Diego, California

AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting new opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members working in the Point Loma area of San Diego, California.

Job Description:

Support the design and implementation of network custom software used to monitor, maintain and control network devices. Research, optimize and implement network concepts, including but not limited to Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Quality of Service (QoS), Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization, Data-In-Transit (DIT) and Data-At-Rest (DAR) encryption. Create, manage and optimize Out of Band (OOB) network management systems utilizing server virtualization. Document new and advanced networking concepts.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Must have a Security+ CE.
  • Must have one (1) of the following professional-level network and operating system certifications.
  • CCNA is required, however a CCNP, CCDE, CCDP, CCIE or CWNE is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science-related field from an accredited college/university and 8+ years of network engineering experience. Master's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally (up to 25%).
  • Experience with the design, implementation, test and demonstration of Internet Protocol (IP) and Content Distribution Network (CDN) technologies for Defense applications, including the integration of dynamic network overlays.
  • Experience integrating data networking equipment with Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Line of Sight (LOS) radio terminals, military applications (including combat/track systems) and cryptographic equipment, specifically with military satellite systems (e.g., Starlink, Kuiper, Inmarsat, Iridium) and radio networks.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of configurations for Linux, Cisco and Juniper routers.
  • Experience with Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) implementations of network equipment, including the validation and characterization of various NFV options within virtualized network environments.
  • Experience with VMWare products.
  • Knowledge of scripting tools, such as Ansible, to automate network provisioning and configuration and familiarity with automation tools for network provisioning and configuration management.
  • Experience with network test tools, such as traffic generators and packet capture to assist with network debugging and post-test performance analysis, with proficiency using tools like Wireshark, Spirent and IXIA.
  • Ability to effectively integrate into an existing network project team and provide technical leadership, demonstrated by successful collaboration in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience transitioning between lead and support roles in network architecture projects to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to support demonstration planning and reporting, including planning, designing and implementing network solutions and preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Experience with preparing written reports and giving presentations to project stakeholders, with a strong background in developing comprehensive documentation and delivering presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting defense projects across the full life cycle from initial concept design through operational implementation.

Salary Range: $140-155K

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
