Postdoctoral Fellow-Scholar
With the support of the Lilly Endowment Inc., the Institute of Pastoral Studies (
IPS) at Loyola University Chicago (
LUC) is launching the
Postdoctoral Fellowship as part of the Miguel Pro S.J. Pastoral Protagonism Initiative for the 2024-2025 academic year. The goal of the Fellowship is to build pathways for generations of scholars who will focus on research and theological developments that center on the Latinx and Hispanic realities. The
IPS will support postdoctoral candidates during publication of their work, equipping them to be fully integrated members of the
IPS faculty as preparation for academic careers.
Job Responsibilities:
Fellows teach one graduate course and one module in continuing education each semester and engage in service within the
IPS (depending on interests). The program will provide compensation, funding for research-related expenses, and limited support for relocation. Additional support includes library privileges as well as professional development opportunities offered by
LUC.
Fellow will be mentored by a senior faculty member, under the guidance of the
IPS Dean while becoming familiar with the usual service responsibilities of a university faculty member.
The successful candidate will hold a Fellow position which carries a one-year appointment. Opportunities for renewal are open for the 2025-2026 academic year. |
