JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Sales Specialist

Business Unit: Sales

Position Reports to: Sales Manager

Location: Crystal Mountain, Washington

Pay Range: $26 -$28/hour + 3% Commission

JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Specialist position is a full-time year-round hourly position with benefits and commission income opportunity. The Sales Specialist will support the Sales Manager in planning and execution of all group, corporate, and wedding events. The Specialist will coordinate planning internally across all Business Units including rentals, lessons, F&B, mountain operations, patrol, and Finance. Works directly with the Sales Manager to help respond to sales inquiries and develop latest sales opportunities. In addition to the primary support role to the Sales Manager and sales team, the Specialist will primarily lead an amount of his/her own sales leads across the spectrum of the business as assigned to him/her by the Sales Manager and Director of Sales. The Specialist will actively play a role in outbound sales initiatives to obtain new business and help reach overall sales goals. In this aspect, commission income opportunity will be provided in addition to salary and benefits. This is a potentially fast-track growth position - successful candidates will have the opportunity for career growth and progression within the sales organization and the overall resort. Finally, the Specialist will coordinate effectively and in tandem at times with the Events & Service Coordinator position in the marketing department as it relates to executing the myriad of on mountain group and consumer events.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively handle guest questions and set expectations
  • Previous direct experience with outbound sales and customer service
  • Professional communication skills mandatory
  • Proficient computer and interpersonal skills necessary - in particular, ability to play active role in supporting and managing the Delphi Salesforce management platform
  • Position requires a mature, dependable, flexible, team-oriented person who can stay calm under pressure
  • Self-motivated, sales-oriented, and large capacity for multiple projects concurrently
  • Must be available for varied shifts and days of the week
  • Passionate and enthusiastic skier/rider to support guest activities


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate sales leads that develop into new customers and identify and assess customer needs to achieve satisfaction.
  • Respond to customers' requests, update customers of promotional offers and new services, escalate high-level concerns to the appropriate department, and keep accurate records of clients' issues and resolutions.
  • Manage sales activities and responsibility for attaining sales targets. Creating and implementing sales strategies, conducting market research, monitoring sales performance, and tracking sales data.
  • Highly focused; able to consistently achieve sales objectives through effective account management and commitment to customer satisfaction. Build lasting business relationships through performance and credibility. Develop positive rapport with people at all levels of responsibility.
  • Must believe in the product or service and is not afraid to sell it. Confidence in the ability to close deals, which gives an edge to succeed.
  • The Sales Specialist develops and implements sales strategy, new business/membership/client development, retention of clients, negotiation of contracts, and identification of entrepreneurial enterprises and relationship management strategies.
  • Ensure that the sales team has the required sales materials and support information for sales calls, trade shows, and proposal responses
  • Assist with event execution including registration, internal logistics and communication
  • Deal with guests and employees in a highly professional manner
  • Thorough understanding of all products and services available. Will present accurate, detailed information about product offerings.
  • Technical skills and an understanding of Siriusware, Inntopia, Delphi and the ability to perform basic math calculations, as well as experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidates should have a proven record of being able to communicate well, mange well under pressure, make logical decisions, problem solve, be resourceful and able to multitask
  • Establish and maintain effective cross-functional relationships across business units
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Two years of outbound sales related work required
  • 2+ years related sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Willing to accept new policies and procedures as changes occur. Available for varied work shifts, as agreed upon with management
  • Ability to complete projects and responsibilities on time and in budget
  • Ensures adherence by team to lunch and break schedules to maximize coverage and provide quality guest service
  • Willing to accept new and varied responsibilities
  • Demonstrate team-oriented approach in all aspects of performance


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to reasonably work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary

OFFICE ENVIRONMENT
  • 20% in office 80% remote
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 40 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees
