Job Description

The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. Reporting to the bank's Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Operations will oversee a knowledgeable and tenured team of bank operations professionals. The position will directly manage 3-4 direct reports and lead a total team of approximately 30 -40 FTE. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction, advanced technical guidance, and leadership to the Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, and Cash Management Operations Teams.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performance management including; assessing staffing requirements, defining goals, conducting employee appraisals, recommending promotions, establishing and coordinating training and cross training needs, and recommending salary adjustments in accordance with performance and career path management.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in the department.
  • Scheduling and conducting regular departmental meetings to review, explain or institute new policies and procedures and continue with the ongoing education of staff. Resolving employee and customer questions.
  • Enthusiastically support the Bank's Guiding Principles and corporate culture.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization's operations division.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives. Communicates with departments to guarantee a smooth and accurate transition of information and workflow within the organization. Manages change across the Operations environment and bank business lines.
  • Uses data and reporting to develop business cases for change, management of daily workloads and to ensure operating standards and services levels are met. Utilizes trends reporting and analysis to plan strategically. Acting as a liaison between the Company and vendors.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department(s). Redefines workflows to improve operating efficiency and customer/employee experience
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization's business plan and vision.
  • Defines policies and procedures to toward continuous improvement through quality customer service and problem resolution. Ensure bank policies and procedures are well written, documented and followed. Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Establishes and administers the department's budget.
  • Manages an expansive set of vendors according to the bank's defined vendor management practices.
  • Sponsors and leads projects representing the operations areas to implement continuous improvement in accordance with project management defined processes.
  • Identifies and assesses a myriad of emerging technologies and trends in operations management. Adhere to federal regulatory requirements, such as the Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Acts, and all established policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory, project management and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
