Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center!
We are seeking enthusiastic Auburn University students to join our team. This unique, year-round position offers a chance to be at the heart of exciting performances and events.
This role involves assisting with load-in and load-out for special events, including setting up, executing, and breaking down equipment for rentals, rehearsals, and performances at the Woltosz Theatre, the Amphitheatre at the City of Auburn Lawn and Porch, and other Gogue Center spaces. Events may include concerts, plays, musicals, festivals, luncheons, university programs, and facility rentals. Additionally, you will serve as a welcoming ambassador, providing exceptional hospitality and customer service to patrons, donors, special guests, and visiting artists.

Essential Functions |
- Assist with load-in and set-up, of audio and lighting equipment, scenery and costumes, for performances during load-in.
- Assist with load-out, by striking (take it down) audio and lighting equipment, scenery, costumes, and reloading trucks.
- Provides assistance with Theatre lighting, audio, or stage operations, as assigned by the Director of Production and/or Production Managers.
- Break down and remove equipment from spaces. Sort and store equipment in proper location in an orderly fashion.
- Collaborate, in a professional manner, with touring companies, while performing at the Gogue Performing Arts Center.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Enrolled student at Auburn University
Expectations:
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers over the phone or in person.
- Display substantial knowledge about GPAC facility layout, venues, and auxiliary spaces.
- Proficient knowledge of rules and regulations of each venue, to ensure safe and successful events are executed.
- Ability to understand layouts, meticulously follow set-up, break-down, and equipment transporting instructions as assigned. Ability to work independently and with different groups.
- Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, climb ladders, and carry equipment.
- Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests, and coworkers.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work late nights and long hours.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Working knowledge of relevant Office 365 software: Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.
- Possesses above-average problem-solving and communication skills.
- Easily adapts and handles high-pressure situations and deadlines.
- Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed in appropriate attire, presenting a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude.
- Utilize www.sling.com to communicate work availability to supervisors and co-workers
- Attend all mandatory training.
- Follow procedures set forth by the department and university policies.
