System Engineer and Test Vehicle Driver

Role Summary:
The system engineer test vehicle is responsible for the commissioning, support and maintenance of the sensor and actuator systems in the vehicle. Together with the workshop team, the system engineer test vehicle develops new concepts for new vehicle setups, including adding HAF components to series vehicles.

As part of this role, you will be driving and testing the systems in these Audi vehicles. Travel is expected to be about 25% and could be local, regional, or international. You will be working on predictive functions and will be analyzing and automating data.

The system engineer test vehicle will be responsible for:

* Collects and analyzes the requirements for the vehicle setup

* Carries out the commissioning and calibration work in the vehicle

* Programs special measurement technology to process input and output data

* Integrates and commissions new sensors and embedded control units in the test vehicles

* Maintains all computer systems deployed in the test vehicle

* Maintains the measurement configurations for data acquisition

* Procures necessary components for all measurement devices deployed in the test vehicle

* Defines vehicle-specific instructions and carries out trainings

* Serves as a contact person for vehicle integration within the workshop

Required Knowledge:

* IT network hardware and software (server-client, protocols, devices like switches)

* OS (Win, Linux) and virtual machines

* Vehicle ECU architecture and bus systems such as CAN/FlexRay/Ethernet bus devices

* Automotive measurement SW (e.g. Vector products Canalyzer/Canoe, Flex devices, Autobox, etc.)

This is an ONSITE CONTRACT ROLE. Possibility of travel (domestic and/or international)

The salary range for this role in California is $130,000 - $145,000, depending on education and experience.
