Job Description Summary:

Draper's Biotechnology Systems business empowers national security through the delivery of innovative solutions in the areas of Biodefense and Biomedical solutions to address the most pressing challenges and hardest problems.

We are seeking a leader to oversee the Health & Human Performance business area within our Biotechnology Systems business office to drive growth and impact with our government customers in DoD, HHS, NIH, NASA, and the Intelligence community.

The Health & Performance business area addresses the needs of our nation's military members, veterans, and general public in the areas of Health and Human Performance. Responsibilities include:

This position reports directly to the Biotechnology Systems Vice President/General Manager. In this role, you will have Profit and Loss responsibility for the Health and Performance business area, inclusive of strategy development and execution, business development, program execution, and talent management.
You will partner with Engineering and Business Functions to mature and execute a transformational growth strategy and deliver on customer commitments.

*Develop, implement, and oversee the execution of a strategy that accelerates mission impact and growth of the biomedical business from early development through prototyping, production, fielding, and sustainment.
*Deliver on our program commitments to our customers with strong customer satisfaction across cost, schedule, technical, management, quality, and communications.
*Deliver a 5-year Integrated Business Plan and subsequent Annual Operating Plan (funding, revenue, and operating profit) to include accurate quarterly forecasts with balanced risk and opportunities.
*Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, direct-reports and customers.
*Excellent written and verbal communications, presentations skills, organizational and time management skills. Candidate must be able to clearly present ideas to executive leadership, peers, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
*Grow and develop diverse program management talent pipeline.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:
* Supervises a team of program managers in the execution of the assigned portfolio to include mentorship and career development.
* Oversees the development of complex proposals of large scope and oversees the execution of all assigned programs.
* Develops a portfolio strategy to include development of the opportunity identification, competitive analysis, alignment of Draper's capabilities, and engagement plans.
* Contributes to Draper Intellectual Property position or discriminating technology portfolio that transcends project contributions in one or more areas of technical discipline.
* Implements program management policies to ensure effective proposal development and project execution.
* Manages to budget and schedule while developing and implement work plans for portfolio execution.
* Reports results and issues to senior management and cross functional organizations.
* Efforts contribute to the success of a major business area.

Skills/Abilities
* Demonstrates deep knowledge in one or more technical disciplines related to Draper's critical capabilities.
* Understands customer needs and is able to synthesize solutions to their problems.
* Delivers products that exceed the expectations of our company and customers.
* Demonstrates strong leadership skills (e.g., develops a vision, communicates to achieve alignment, motivates teams, delivers results), enabling him/her to lead tasks of significant complexity.
* Ability to contribute to the strategic planning process for a significant business area.
* Demonstrates the ability to define and/or apply common best business practices.
* Demonstrates highly developed communication skills, both in written and oral forms; clearly communicates with sponsors, management and peers.

Education:
Master's degree or above in a relevant technical field of study, or MBA. Technical knowledge and skills gained through professional work experience.

Experience:
10+ years functional or program management experience. including 5 years experience in personnel management.

Additional Job Description:

  • Experience navigating and accessing key stakeholders within DoD (Defense Health Agency, DARPA, Office of Secretary of Defense), US Government (Health & Human Services, BARDA, NIH, ARPA-H) and related commercial entities to drive business growth and impact.
