Job Description Summary:

Draper's Biotechnology Systems business empowers national security through the delivery of innovative solutions in the areas of Biodefense, Health & Human Performance and Novel Materials to address the most pressing challenges and hardest problems. Our mission is to harness the cutting-edge potential of biotechnology to develop advanced solutions that safeguard our nations' security and enrich people's lives on behalf of current and future generations.

In this role, you will drive and coordinate engagement with Biotechnology Systems partners and customers across the U.S. Government, Academia, and commercial industry to inform strategy and lead our internal business winning processes. You will partner with market area leads, Engineering and Business Functions to mature and execute a transformational growth and capture strategy and business winning process.

Responsibilities:
*Assist in the develop and execution of a strategy that accelerates mission impact and growth of the biotechnology systems business that cuts across Department of Defense, Health & Human Services, and Intelligence agencies.
*Effectively manage and track capture opportunities with the established business winning tools and processes to meet business growth goals.
*Lead and support business development efforts, to include capture, proposals, white papers, Request For Information (RFI) responses complete with work statements, schedules, budgets, and technical content.
*Effectively integrate team member inputs into reports and presentations.
*Organize, motivate, and lead project and capture teams.
*Coordinate with the Draper's Business Winning Organization and the Chief Strategy Office, to ensure synchronization and alignment.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
* Responsible for managing complex programs that may involve managing fixed price contract with high dollar volume or contract length.
* Oversees program budget and schedules.
* Responsible for program growth
* Responsible for marketing new technology or follow* on business acquisition.
* May be responsible for business development within current customer base and/or for new customers.
* Responsible for program execution including interfacing with customers
* Coordinating successful execution of programs with internal stakeholders.
* Ensures contractual deliverables are completed on schedule and within the approved budget.
* Support Program Directors, Business Area Leads, and Senior Program Managers in the development of internal products and provide recommendations for research and development.
* Develop technical program management best practices and provide training/mentoring to project teams
* Monitors dependencies across multiple inter* related technical projects to adhere to methodologies, budgets, and timing
* Gather and report consolidated technical project status and financial information to leadership
* Recommends changes to improve processes and alleviate process inaccuracy and duplication.

Skills/Abilities
* Program and project management skills.
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies and/or new applications.
* Knowledge and proven track record of successful business interaction.
* Ability to be persuasive and a strong relationship builder.
* Possess excellent communications, presentation and networking skills.
* Ability to travel on an as needed basis.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent discipline required.

Experience
* 5-7 years program related experience in functional or program management.
* Experience in program related area with functional or program management. Aerospace systems and program experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Organizational understanding of agencies within DoD, HHS, Intelligence Agencies in the areas of Biodefense, Health & Human Performance and Novel Materials.
  • Experience conducting market and competitive research and generating timely and relevant business intelligence to drive improved business development outcomes.
  • Experience leading complex captures and campaigns through an established business capture process.
  • Understanding of business winning processes with experience in deploying tools and best practices. (ie: Shipley Business Winning, Customer Relationship Management systems).
