Overview

The Leasing Manager is responsible for: assisting with the leasing process; gathering market data; interacting with brokers; facilitating various landlord consents to subleases and assignments; assisting in the preparation of leasing proposals and leasing reports for the Southeast Region, a 4.4M square foot portfolio of medical and office types of properties located in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee; and assisting with leasing related inputs in Argus for budgeting and reforecasting purposes.



Responsibilities

    Assist in gathering data in preparation for all new leases, renewals and rent resets. Create VTS proposals, review/redline broker proposals and manage updated versions.
  • Assist corporate asset management team with collecting and processing all lease documents.
  • Update the View the Space (VTS) platform on a regular basis with entries for leasing related deals.
  • Collect and present market data and comps to maintain Argus MLA's
  • Prepare documents needed for landlord consents to subleases and assignments for review by Vice President or Senior Director.
  • Work to establish communications with existing tenants with upcoming lease expirations, rent resets and/or any other leasing related transactions, as needed.
  • Work with property management and engineering teams to provide support for leasing related matters and provide Director with summaries of active leasing matters for monthly property management meetings.
  • Update vacancy, expiration, subleased space, leased but unoccupied space, and market rent reports for review by VP or Senior Director and upload to RMR Sharepoint site.
  • Maintain and promote relationships with landlord and tenant rep brokers and stay informed of market conditions, trends, lease incentives, etc.
  • Assist in the development of leasing projections for annual budgets. Keep track of leasing costs (legal fees, leasing commissions, tenant improvements, etc.) for use in leasing projections.
  • Update leasing related assumptions in Argus for budgeting and reforecasting purposes and input variance comments on a monthly basis.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide assistance to the Vice President, Senior Director, property management, business operations, and corporate asset management staff as requested.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as delegated by the Vice President or Senior Director.
  • Act as a team member with all RMR employees, demonstrating initiative and leadership skills.
  • Become involved in industry groups specialized in brokerage and leasing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in commercial real estate working with lease documents.
  • Salesperson's license a plus
  • Travel required as necessary
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, along with the ability to both multi-task and bring individual issues to timely closure.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and sustain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing.
  • Depending on leasing workload and corporate deadlines, having the ability to work outside of the normal workday hours may be necessary.
  • Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail.
