Annual salary plus performance-based incentive program. Hiring salary based on experience.

Manages credit and account management activities to ensure profitable customer portfolios and minimize credit risk in the team's loan portfolio. Provides sales management, support and decision making for personnel within a relationship team to attain goals established by the market manager. Assures prompt communication of Bank, Division and market strategies, goals and objectives to the team. Assures implementation of and adherence to loan policy and procedures, laws and regulations. Manages the cross-selling and retention efforts of team members.

Responsible for the daily administration of workflow of all team members (officers and non-officers). Negotiates performance goals with team members and monitors and reviews goal progress quarterly. Responsible for conducting annual performance reviews with all subordinates and for performing a variety of other managerial and administrative functions.

Essential Functions:



  • Performs risk management and business development functions.
  • Approves credit accommodations within lending authority and recommends larger commitments to the next higher level.
  • Delegates appropriate lending authority to team members. Works closely with relationship officers in the analysis, structuring and pricing of more difficult credit requests. Ensures adherence to credit policies and rate guidelines so that loan quality and profitability standards are met.
  • Directly administers a portfolio composed of selected key customers, usually larger, more complex, and/or significant problem relationships.
  • Functions as the sales manager for a team of relationship officers.
  • Organizes, coordinates and actively participates in the relationship team's business development activities, ensuring prospect and customer call plans are developed and implemented.
  • Heavy involvement in community activities is required and may include evenings and weekends.
  • Conducts customer and prospect calls individually and jointly with other team relationship officers to enhance existing relationships and attract new customers.
  • Integrates effective Internal Controls into all applicable work processes. Maintains a working knowledge of Internal Controls with particular attention to Key Controls. Is responsible for ensuring that updates to Internal Controls documentation are performed timely when there are changes in the risk parameters and/or work flow.
  • Ensures that the business development and product knowledge training needs of the team are met.
  • Maintains liaison and coordinates with Bank personnel in other departments and regions to ensure the retention of relationships maintained with those personnel and to ensure that cross sale opportunities are maximized.
  • Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
  • Performs a variety of managerial and administrative functions:
  • Conducts a formal performance review at least annually with each subordinate.
  • Recommends salary actions, promotions, demotions, transfers, salary grade changes for subordinates.
  • Develops the credit, customer relations, and business development skills of team relationship officers through a combination of goal setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance appraisals.
  • Communicates and interprets bank guidelines, policies and programs, including the officer extra
  • compensation plan.
  • Participates in formulating short and long range team plans and evaluating the team organization structure and operating procedures.
  • Actively supports the Bank's Affirmative Action goals.
  • Keeps abreast of new financing products, methods and techniques, key industry trends and conditions and changes in laws, regulatory policies and accounting procedures.
  • Leads and participates in community affairs and activities.
  • Balances the number of borrower and non-borrower relationships assigned to each relationship officer to assure adequate time for a high level of customer service, timely credit submissions and officer calls.
  • Daily monitors administrative activities of team members to assure minimal risk to Bank.
  • Monitors approved annual budget for personnel supervised.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial / corporate banking experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of all Bank services and the ability to be creative and innovative in use of products and services.
  • Strong people management techniques and knowledge of Bank personnel policies and procedures.
  • Sound credit judgment and strong underwriting skills.
  • High level of analytical skill to conduct loan analysis, monitor loan progress in consideration of market trends, credit/interest rates, economic conditions, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of the credit and non-credit financial needs of many types of businesses.
  • Strong business development and sales management experience and skills.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit products, treasury management services, and bank operations.
  • Strong, well-developed interpersonal skills to maximize business contacts and develop working relationships with potential and current commercial loan customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required to have or obtain a Mortgage Loan Originator registration number through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS)

Starting Compensation: $135,000 - $170,000

Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including experience and performance. This position is also eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus and quarterly incentive compensation plan.
