About the Role:

Are you ready to bring your passion for data and grocery retail to one of the world's most beloved confectionery companies? Ferrero is seeking a dynamic and analytical Field Category Manager, Grocery East to join our team! The Field Category Manager, Grocery East is a full-time remote role and reports to the Director of Grocery Field Category Management. As the Field Category Manager, Grocery East, you'll play a crucial part in supporting our key Grocery customers (Publix and Wakefern). Your primary mission? To craft compelling, objective, and data-driven selling stories that drive sales and margin goals. Interested candidates should be located in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, or New Jersey.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales Director, assigned broker and internal partners to develop data driven, objective category recommendations that meet or exceed Ferrero Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs") and deliver Category growth for the retailer.
  • Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to retailer and Sales Director on distribution, shelving, merchandising and pricing ("DSMPs").
  • Build relationships within retailer to become or strengthen strategic and trusted partner status.
  • Monitor and analyze category, competition and shopper data to proactively identify business opportunities and develop actionable category insights.
  • Work collaboratively to develop innovative and insightful content to drive category growth.
  • Participate in and develop content for retailer annual line reviews and joint business planning.
  • Leverage all syndicated data resources, shopper insights platforms and research in support of the sales initiatives that ensure linkage with the category management plan.
  • Be the subject matter expert on key data tools (assortment, IRI, retailer loyalty data, etc.).
  • Drive support for new product innovation launches through commercial planning process.


Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing discipline required, MBA is a plus.
  • 5+years relevant experience required, CPG and/or Grocery Channel experience preferred.
  • Category management skill set required, Category Space Planning experience a plus.
  • Proactive mindset to develop category strategies and translate them into DSMP KPIs.
  • Data analysis skills to monitor key account performance and develop strategies.
  • Work collaboratively to develop innovative and insightful content to drive category growth.
  • Interpersonal skills as to interface effectively with necessary internal and external stakeholders, ability to build solid relationships and achieve brand sales goals.
  • Strong collaborative capabilities, high integrity and ethics, and operate daily with the company's values in mind.
  • Global mindset: desire to build a successful career with a growing global company.
  • Excellent written, oral, time-management and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint necessary; Wakefern dunnhumby data experience and data modeling a plus.
  • 25% travel for HQ and customer facing meetings.
